Our version 2 of the baffle offers the best for more hardcore riders, track enthusiasts or engines with higher output, bigger turbos and is made of two plates. The smaller baffle helps keeping low oil aeration as rods and spining crank blowbys create positive pressure. The second plate with flappers role is to maintain as much oil nearby the oil pick up in the same time allowing oil to return from heads to the pan.
We’ ve precisely choosen the gap between the baffle and oil pan. This baffle is just fitted by screws, no sealant needed.
The negative pressure generated by the turbo is enough to suck out oil form heads and crankcase the oil ends in the compressor wheel and acts like a hydrodynamic brake decelerating heavily the turbo at full speed. The more the car and engine is being pushed for a period and travels throught high speed corners the more the problem becomes important. Our baffle plate with a good AOS are a must for any subaru fan pushing his car throught conrners, gravel or attempting gymkhanas.
We’ ve developed it on track cars looking carefully at others approach ,making a lot of tests including some stupid ones just to learn which took a long time as it s no easy to find the best compromise. Small details make a huge different.
